Celeste Schneider, Theatre Director
Celeste Schneider, a Leander ISD graduate, received her BA in Communications and Musical Theatre at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. She is a classically trained vocalist and has served as a vocal and acting coach for 10+ years. Former Miss Teen Austin, she is also a published singer/songwriter and has studied Beijing Opera in China where her love for Eastern culture and theatre was born. Some of her favorite student roles to play were Nellie in South Pacific and Adelaide in Guys and Dolls.
Ms. Schneider began her theatre teaching career in 2008 in East Texas and eventually moved home to central Texas, teaching at Four Points Middle School and a short time in Pflugerville ISD. She is excited to be at Vandegrift this year and feels blessed to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful students, parents and staff.
Ms.Schneider is the mother of 3 amazing children, Makenna, Presley and Cooper. She enjoys live music, live shows, writing music and anything on the water.

Jon Alonso, Theatre Director

Mr. Alonso teaches Theater Tech 1 and Theater Arts 3-4 and is excited to be working with each and every one of the VHS Theatre students. Originally from the dusty realms of West Texas, Mr. Alonso was born in Odessa, Texas and lived in Pecos - "Home of the First Rodeo". He attended Mclennan Community College (GO HIGHLANDERS!!) where he received his first two years of Technical and Theatrical Training. Mr. Alonso graduated from Angelo State University and later settled in the Austin area where he met his wonderful wife. A teacher for 9 years, he is grateful to be working with the talented Viper faculty and students.

An Austin transplant, Jeff Davis was born and raised in Southern California and received his Bachelors Degree in Theater from UCLA. Mr. Davis has over 20 years of experience in the theater industry as an actor, director, designer, and playwright. Prior to joining the team at Vandegrift, he served as Artistic Director of Agape Theatre in Georgetown, TX and was the Technical Director for Leander High School's Theatre Department. Mr. Davis has received several BroadwayWorld-Austin Award Nominations for his work with Agape Theatre, the Georgetown Palace, and Leander High School. He is extremely excited to work and collaborate with the incredible students and faculty at Vandegrift High School.
