Mark your calendars, Viper families! Vandegrift Theatre is bringing Oscar Wilde's beloved ghost story to life with a hilarious twist this January 22-24, and tickets are on sale NOW!
But This Isn't Your Average Ghost Story...
Tim Kelly's adaptation flips the script on the classic haunted house tale. When the Otis family—your typical, no-nonsense Americans—moves into the historic Canterville Chase manor in England, they're warned about Sir Simon de Canterville, a 300-year-old ghost with a reputation for terrorizing anyone who dares live in his home.
But here's the twist: the Americans aren't scared. At all. In fact, they end up terrorizing him! Watch as daughters Pam and Wendy chase the poor ghost around with cans of hairspray, much to Sir Simon's horror. (Apparently, even the undead have standards about fair play.)
Desperate and flustered, Sir Simon calls in reinforcements—fellow ghosts including Hester the Horrid, Lady Joan the Graveless, and the Vampire Duchess. Add in a bumbling psychic researcher, a stuffy English staff, and mayhem ensues!
Of course, this being theatre, there's heart beneath the hijinks. Young Virginia Otis may hold the key to finally giving Sir Simon the peace he's been seeking for centuries.

Fun Ways to Support Vandegrift Theatre Co.
This year’s musical is not just about curtain up and light the lights — this fall, it’s also about hoops and hairspray! As we gear up for the Vandegrift Theatre Company’s production of High School Musical, the Booster Club is serving up two creative (and totally Wildcats-approved) ways to get in on the fun: the Knock-Out Basketball Fundraiser and Sharpay’s Hair Studio. Both events are happening between the matinee and evening performances on Saturday, October 25 at 4:30 pm!
Knock-Out Fundraiser
Think you’ve got game? Step onto the court and take your shot during our Knock-Out Basketball Fundraiser! Players will go head-to-head in a fast-paced elimination challenge to win — wait for it — a basketball signed by the High School Musical cast. Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or just out to have a good time, this event is all about school spirit and supporting the arts.
Come cheer on your friends, take some great photos, and enjoy an afternoon of fun competition. All proceeds go straight back to supporting the incredible students who make Vandegrift Theatre Co. such a powerhouse of creativity.
Sharpay’s Hair Studio
Looking for a little sparkle before or after showtime? Visit Sharpay’s Hair Studio in the lobby between performances to get your “Wildcat glam” on! Our pop-up salon offers fun and festive hair styling — think glitter, braids, and plenty of accessories — inspired by East High’s very own drama queen, Sharpay Evans.
It’s a great way for kids (and let’s be honest, parents too!) to add a little extra shine before the curtain rises. Proceeds from Sharpay’s Hair Studio also benefit the Booster Club, helping fund everything from set materials to costumes and student enrichment.
Why It Matters
Every ticket, every fundraiser, every sparkly hair strand helps us keep high-quality theatre opportunities alive at Vandegrift. Our students work tirelessly on and off stage to bring these productions to life — and community participation makes all the difference.
So grab your sneakers, your glitter, and your best Wildcats spirit — and join us in celebrating the arts, one shot (and one shimmer) at a time!

We’re all in this together — join us October 23-25, 2025 for the VHS production of Disney’s High School Musical!
Vandegrift High School Theatre is thrilled to announce that tickets are officially on sale for our fall musical — Disney’s High School Musical: On Stage! Don’t miss your chance to grab the best seats and cheer on our incredible cast and crew as they bring this fan-favorite story to life on stage.
High School Musical is the smash-hit Disney Channel Original that sparked a cultural phenomenon. It follows Troy Bolton, the basketball star, and Gabriella Montez, the new girl with brains and a hidden voice, as they discover an unexpected connection: a shared love of singing. When the two decide to audition for the school musical, they throw their cliques—and the entire East High student body—into a frenzy. Along the way, they remind everyone that you don’t have to “stick to the status quo” to follow your passions.
Packed with upbeat numbers like Get’cha Head in the Game, Stick to the Status Quo, and the iconic We’re All in This Together, this show has something for every age — whether you grew up belting the soundtrack in your living room or you’re introducing it to a new generation.
Tickets are on sale now and we can’t wait to see the auditorium filled with family, friends, and fans ready to sing, dance, and clap along. Don’t wait—our shows often sell out!
Performances run October 23-25, 2025 in the Vandegrift High School theatre.
